About

We have heard about craigslist and ebay, but the few tradestable Nigeria has didn't put into cognisance the essence of listing stuffs people don't really need or make use of any longer for other takers to pick it up while also they can pick up stuffs they might find useful to them too. dashmo merges both giving and business into one. You can either give your stuffs freely, sell it at used value or trade it in exchange for other stuffs with corresponding takers who have what you need and you have what he/she needs, talking about the old "trade by barter" system we heard of in commerce in secondary school. except for now virtually everything exchanges for money. welcome to dashmo and look up "How it Works".

Whether you live in a house in the surburbs or an apartment in the city, most of us quietly harbor the same dirty little secret. We don't talk about it often and frankly we avoid thinking about it unless we absolutely must. I'm talking about the sheer terror we face when we open a closet or look in a drawer, because that's where we've shoved most of our stuff. Let's face it, we're “stuff shovers”. We've made a habit of shoving stuff throughout our homes, in closets, attics, garages, and basements— really, anywhere we find room. The worst part of this is that most of the stuff we shove we don't even use anymore.
The question we were left to ponder was—why do we still have all this stuff?
Here's what we came up with: We keep our stuff because we know it still has some usable value and the idea of tossing it just seems wasteful, so we continue deluding ourselves into thinking we'll use it one day. But actually it just winds up moving with us from old house to new house, taking up space.
In the past, some of us have gone the eBay or Craigslist route to deal with this issue, and made some cash along the way which was cool, but honestly not worth the hassle. We personally didn't love managing a slew of emails, dealing with questions and inviting strangers into our homes. The bit of money we made didn't seem nearly worth the time and trouble. If you feel differently, right on—some things totally make sense to sell.
In the end, we decided we all wanted the same thing. We want our stuff to go to a good home. We can admit that we feel sentimental about our things. Those souvenirs we bought on our honeymoon or that Tonka Truck we played with as a kid are full of good memories, and although we don't need them anymore, it would make us feel better knowing they went directly to someone who really wanted them.
So, we decided to create an online community where people could do just that— give away their shoved stuff to other people who actually want to use it or sell it as used and maybe with any luck trade it in for some other stuffs. We're solving problems and reaping benefits all at the same time. It all but cleaned our messy closets. We're recycling—which is super eco-friendly. We've done a good deed for our stuff AND for someone else. We finally have our space back, and it just generally feels amazing to give. It's a Karma extravaganza, if you will.
So we encourage you to go through your stash of stuff and start dashmo'ing today!
